Our MLT laser system for a variety of applications

Scope of application

Our MLFlex laser system combines a variety of applications in one machine. Whether laser perforation, scribing in the direction of machine travel, scribing across the direction of travel or cutting smaller contours - with the MLFlex system you will be well positioned in your production in the future. In principle, the MLFlex system combines all the application possibilities of our MLPerf and MLScribe systems in one versatile laser system.

The main areas of application of the MLFlex systems are:

• Laser perforation of monofilms and laminated films
• Special applications in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries for ventilated packaging solutions
• Laser scoring in machine direction (MD)
• Laser scribing transverse to the machine direction (CD)
• Laser scribing of freely definable contours
• Cutting and incising of smaller contours in the web material
• Optional laser marking (depending on material)

The technology

• Typical materials: Mono and composite films (OPP, PE, PE-LD, PET, CPP, EVA, PLA), paper and kraft paper.
• Typical integration: In slitter rewinders, winders, lamination.
• Speeds: Typical industrial speeds range from 80m/min up to 400m/min. In special applications over 700m/min are realised.
• Type of laser source: CO2 laser.
• Typical hole sizes: 80µm to 900µm - depending on the material, both smaller and larger holes are possible.
• Number of laser sources per system: 1 to 18 - usually between 4 to 10.
• Power of the laser sources: 30 Watt to 1000 Watt per source - usually between 60 and 120 Watt per laser.
• Web widths: 250mm to 2000mm (larger web widths are usually possible). The most commonly used web width is 1400mm.
